Question

There’s many concepts and philosophy that are said to help the world and help people become better. But what is the best option? This is a question that creeps into my mind and makes me think who is right and who is wrong? Are people focused on what benefits the the world or what benefits them? These are all relevant questions that will make people stop and ponder for an entire life time. Ask the right questions. To find answers we need to simple ask the right questions. A quest to be curious to what is in the world and how it functions.

It seems to me, that a lot of people try to hold on to the mindsets that got them to their current position. You need to kill your old self to move on to a new self. Parts of you should stay like a strong work ethic, time management but your skills will need to change, the type of people you surround yourself with will need to change as well . As I’ve said there comes a point where most people stop shedding the skin. To adapt is the greatest skill that is given to us humans.

Comfort and Discomfort

When I’m learning and growing and expanding my capabilities this when I feel truly alive. Anywhere that holds me back from becoming better will need to be eliminated. Same goes for people, if they are holding others back and they are not self aware enough. They need to understand that they need to grow to fit a new and evolving world or they will get left behind.

This feeling of comfort is what most people seek. The problem is when you find a comfortable place to lay your head and being able to afford your lifestyle. This is when your life will not demand you to change as urgently. These are the times you have to bring that feeling of discomfort upon yourself.. Try to demand yourself to become better. This is mindset that is engrained in anyone that wants to become the greatest they could be.

Goal and the Box

You see a goal is in your imagination and you want to try and obtain it. Are these goals are truly our own or are they a combination of what we have been exposed to. I write about perspectives that define us at times, but is it truly us or a figment of our imagination. That’s just a side thought, but they question is, will that understanding serve us or slow us down? I think there are phases to everything in life. If you are trying to rise to top of a society, you have to base your actions based on the lessons of people that are both dead and alive.

Choose carefully because if they person you are learning from does not have what you want it, might just box you into a world that is constrained by their world view. You never want to be constrained by someone who lives in a box you do not want to live in. This relates to the whole idea of forcing discomfort upon yourself. We all need to be able to tell when the box that we are in is not serving us anymore.

Stagnating Owner and Operator

Imagine that you working for a company where the owner does not want to expand the company. They do not want to innovate and just wants to keep making the same amount every year. The owner collects the income required to sustain his lifestyle. Everyone else that is working there will not be able to grow if they stay there. This is because there are no opportunities to grow. In end a company with an owner like this will struggle with retention. They will not provide enough stimulation to people that could actually help an organization flourish. This will result in mediocre people staying at the company. Eventually this company will die along with any revenue that the owner wanted to hold on to. Another alternative would force the owner to sell the company to someone who has to desire for expansion.

Stagnation leads to regression is a thought that I always have, people ask me why are your standards high? I say that I remember when they weren’t and I try my best not to get back to that mindset. I am not saying that I do not take breaks and rest periods. When I’m trying to achieve, my effort is going to push my limits and trying to achieve the best.

Future Questions to Ponder

Is this a mindset that will help society or will it create a divide between people that’s the real question. But a question for another day. What if leaders do not focus on growth and development to make everyone else feel better about themselves?

This article is part of my goal to write everyday for an hour and post it everyday. It may not be edited to my standards but the goal is create value and get content out everyday.
