I love technology and how many uses it could have, but I’ve noticed people that are absolutely scared of it. It’s interesting that there people with degrees in physics that know nothing about technology. They understand the physical world, understand the dynamics, thermodynamics and understand how elements function at an atomic level. But at the same time do not appreciate the technology that goes into proving the theories.
Maybe its just the people that I’ve been exposed to, actually I think it does have to do with the people I’ve been exposed to.
I really do want to understand more decentralized ways of operating online and in the world. I’m losing my mind because there’s so much that I’ve neglected to learn about the internet over the post two years, I think that has to do with working at a company where leadership despised technology.
I think not realizing the power of new technology comes from holding to ways of viewing the world. I believe you are young as long as you maintain an open mind and are curious about new things that may emerge before you. There are people who are in their 20’s that act like they’re in their 50’s because they cling on to believes of the past or of the people that have influenced them. That’s a a lack of mental flexibility to learn about history yet cling to the parts that do not serve you in the present.
I’m trying now to build myself into the person that I want to be without the constraints of others. I’ve learned to continuous learn about the perspectives of other but at the same time consider if those perspective serve me in the current moment.
